Palm Lake golf

It was great to be out of lockdown and to be able to play our Stableford round in groups of four. Apparently, all of our players thought the same as we had the largest roll-up for the year, including Darren who is on his way to a new job in Maryborough, QLD when and if the border opens. We may have him around for some weeks to come and the way he hits a ball it will be our pleasure.

The winner on the day was Paul Christie who returned 28 points which was seven more than he made the previous day for 18 holes – funny game this golf! George Key, returning after being away for an extended period, had 25 points and reckoned that he had it in the bag but only took second, while Ken Hall ran third with 24 points.

NTPs saw Denis Kelly birdie the 10th after a great tee shot and a splendid put. Ken Hall was nearest on the 12th and Paul Christie won the 17th.

Hopefully, we’ll be able to continue our golf without restrictions and return to the Club for our presentation and coffee. It’s a great feeling to be back to nearly normal.
