Ngaru village redevelopment

Rumours have been circulating around the Yamba area in recent weeks about the redevelopment of Ngaru Village with speculation 90 homes are set to be built on the site.

The land occupied by Ngaru Village, Yamba, is owned by the Birrigan Gargle Local Aboriginal Land Council, who lodged a development application for a boundary adjustment and 38 lot subdivision in April 2022, which was approved by council.

Before work on the subdivision can commence, Clarence Valley Council are investigating rectification of a stormwater line in Ngaru Village and reassessing amended plans associated with the subdivision works certificate.

The CV Independent will contact the Birrigan Gargle Local Aboriginal Land Council and provide more detail on the subdivision in a future issue.
