As he reflects on his first week as the newly appointed CEO of the Grafton Greyhound Racing Club, Brennan Naidoo feels incredibly honoured and excited about the future.

With his focus firmly set on continuing to build the club’s strong association with local businesses and stakeholders while supporting the Clarence Valley community, Mr Naidoo also revealed his ongoing commitment to working with and alongside industry leaders and employees to ensure all parties feel valued and respected, adding he has placed a particularly strong emphasis on the welfare of greyhound racing across all levels.

With a highly compliant background in banking, and with additional experience in the retail and hospitality industries, Mr Naidoo brings an extensive assortment of skills and expertise to his current role and is keen to build on his growing knowledge of the popular sport.

Describing his early discussions with the Grafton Greyhound Racing Club as the most genuine, sincere, and honest interview he had participated in, Mr Naidoo complimented President John Corrigan and his staff for the fantastic work they are currently doing, and said he feels privileged to have been given the opportunity to be part of such a great and dynamic team.

Born and raised in Durban, South Africa, Mr Naidoo relocated to Australia in the early 2000s and settled in the North Queensland city of Mackay for the next eight years.

After meeting his wife Liz, who was originally from Grafton while living and working in the sunshine state, the couple married in the Clarence Valley in 2009 before moving to Brisbane in 2010.

After welcoming three children, twin daughters and a son in recent years, the couple decided they wanted to move to Grafton to allow them to raise their family as part of a regional community.

And while the family is currently in the process of relocating south of the border, Mr Naidoo said the Clarence Valley already feels like home.

“It’s such a beautiful lifestyle, and to be able to live and work in Grafton, I certainly feel very fortunate,” he said.

“My new role is a steep learning curve for me, but I have a feel for the financial and corporate side of the business, and looking ahead, I’m excited to become more involved with my club, my local community, establish new contacts, and develop a strong working network.

“I’m really looking forward to it.”

President of the Grafton Greyhound Racing Club John Corrigan said Mr Naidoo has “hot the ground running,” and described him as a wonderful asset for the local organisation.
