Naval and Mariners Commemorative Service

The Clarence Valley Naval and Mariners Association will be conducting a Commemorative Service for the loss of HMAS Voyager on Thursday, February 10, commencing at 1045am.
The service will take place at the Maclean Cenotaph. Although it has been 58 years since the Voyager II (D04) with a loss of 82 officers and sailors and Garden Island Dockyard Worker Mr Stan Parker ex RAN, after Colliding with HMAS Melbourne (R21), whilst conducting exercises off Jervis Bay, the 10th of February 1964 remains significant as the Royal Australian Navy’s worst peacetime disaster and a stark reminder of the dangers and the unknown that our current serving members face each day in the line of duty… although thankfully we are at peace.

All ex RAN or currently enlisted personnel on leave and RANR members as well as any Merchant Sailors wishing to pay respects are co-orderly invited to attend. An attendance book will be available and please wear a mask.
