Mixed Pairs Championships continue at the GDSC

Our Mixed Pairs Championships for 2023 continued over the past two weeks with three matches having been played on Sunday April 2.

Results

  1. Napper & B. Napper d S. Hillier & J. Ryan 24 – 11.
  2. Johnson & P. Sutton d J. Pugh & D. Morgan 21 – 18.
  3. Perrett & L. Bond d M. Firth & G. Taylor 28 – 15.
  4. Murray & A. Knox d D. Walsh & M. Walsh by forfeit.

In social bowls results, leading up to Easter, we had 44 players on Friday March 31, for our men’s pairs, with the winners on the day being Snow McClymont & Mitch Cook. Runners up went to Terry Dwyer & Geoff Gerard while the Consolation prize went to Brian Hall & Tom McDonald. 

First ‘Resting Touchers’ for the day went to Mitch Cook on green 1, and Mark Walsh on green 2. Our three ‘free game winners’ were Snow McClymont, Col Clark & Geoff Gerard.

On Wednesday April 5, we had 32 players for social pairs, with the winners on the day being Tony Blanch & Keith Garner. Runners up went to Gary Harrison & Allan Knox, while the Consolation winners were Barry Elder & Brian Napper. First ‘Resting Touchers’ for the day went to Peter Gillespie on green 1 & Brian Buckley on green 2.

On Friday April 7, there were 24 bowlers out for a game, with the winners’ prize going to Craig Dalton & Tony Lickiss. The runners up went to Neville Henwood & Gregg Maxted and our Consolation winners were Tony Blanch & Terry Glass. First ‘resting touchers’ for the day were won by Barry Elder & Ben Gaardsted. Our three ‘free game’ winners were Barry Williams, Ken Foster & Ray Marchant.
