Maclean Vets golf

Another perfect day and another outstanding field of 56 starters hit the golf course last Monday September 6 for the single Stableford.

Des Plunkett again found things to his liking and again had a blinder to come in with 43 points to better his 42 points of a couple of weeks back. Excellent golf Des and hopefully the handicapper is doing his job on you. Runner up after a countback was Greg  Saul with a well compiled 39 points. Good to see you getting back to some good form Greg after a long lay off. In 3rd spot, also with 39 was Dave Bryden. A great round of golf to Dave.

Club balls were won by Greg Doolan and Leigh Barrington – 38, Mike McGowan and Bob Harvey- 37, Graham Cox, John Roberts and Helen McFarlane -36, Alan Cope -35, and Sheree Forsythe and Richard Parker both with 34 points.

A reminder that the Woodburn/ Evans Head open day is still going ahead on October 12. Nomination sheets are on the board.

Shot gun starts are still not allowable under NSW golf Covid regulations so until we are told otherwise timed starts in groups of 4 off both the 1st and 10th tees will continue.

Also good to see that since last week John Porter has been having some driving lessons with his newly acquired golf buggy. He gave a few of us a demonstration of his newly acquired skills near the 11th tee last Saturday and I am pleased to report that he did quite well and managed to keep his buggy out of the water. Excellent work John.
