Squash – Last week we saw some great squash played at the centre. Toby Gray def Damien Rutkoski 15-11, although Damien won on points (68-64). In another great match, Nick Plummer def Allison Bennett 15.11. Going game for game it could of went either way, but it was Nick coming away with the win. Ashton Anderson def Mark Webb 15-10, in a marathon five setters lasting well over the hour. Newcomers to the competition Tony McFarlane & Paul Smith had a great match. Paul came out strong to win the first two sets, Tony made a great comeback to win the next three 15-8. Ray Hoad def Lauren Illig 15-6. Cricket – In a close match going right down to the final over GIO’s Gents def Yamba 115-95. GIO’s Gents Matt Passlow taking 5/-14 & Nathan Essex 3/-3 & Jarrad Moran scoring 24 runs & Yamba Lachlan Dougherty 3/-2 & Zac Honeybrook top scoring with 35 runs. Lawrence def Baby’s Arms 123-82. Best for Lawrence was Ben McMahon 3/-7 & scoring 24 runs & Toby Gray scoring 26 runs & Baby’s Arms Jason (SPUD) Anderson 3/5 & Brad Hollington where there best. Brushgrove def Maclean Motors 140-100. Brushgrove Col James taking 4 wickets in one over & his final bowling stats where 4/-4 & newcomer Georgia Plummer top scoring with 30 runs & best for Maclean Motors was youngest & brothers Cody & Jeremy Ensby, who put on a great partnership of 40 runs & Lee Johns 4/2. Volleyball – Last week we had the closest match of the season, between Keepers & Maclean Motors. Both teams winning one game each after 45 minutes, it went back on points, with Keepers coming away winning by one (40-39). Jetsters def Junior Magpies 2-1 & Blooms def Mixed Up 2-0. Semi-finals starting this week. Final point-score: Junior Magpies 66, Jetsters 62, Keepers 60, Maclean Motors 58, Blooms 38, Mixed Up 28. Futsal Juniors – Last week we had thirty five juniors showing up again. It goes to show why this is the most popular sport with the Juniors. If there is any Juniors interested in playing this great game, come along on a Wednesday afternoon at 3.45pm & we will put you into a team. Cost only $3.00. Winner of the soccer ball this month was Jake Townsend, which is well deserved after not missing many weeks over the past couple of years. Seniors – Last weeks seen the final round played. Coops def The Vipers 5-4 in a real family affair, with the Neilson, Ohlmus & Simmons families all playing. Goal Diggers def The Lego’s 13-9 & Jungle Juice def Wildcats 22-13.
