Maclean late night shopping and Christmas fun

The organisers of this year’s event all agree whole heartedly it was well worth our effort.

Our thanks go to the 22 retailers who opened their shops, the 13 stall holders, Maclean Pipe Band, Maclean Music Academy Ensemble, Soul Ambition Dance Studio and Scottish Dance Centre for providing entertainment.

What a fantastic mix of retail magic, community talents and beautiful Christmas goodies.

Cakora Kids Hub was a hive of activity and produced some very special looking kids, it was great to see the smiling faces especially when Santa arrived with gifts.

We received 327 raffle tickets into the draw which indicates plenty of shopping was being done.

If you were to estimate each ticket at a spend of $10 the economic value to the town would be $3,270 in 2.5 hours. The retailers and stall holders’ feedback has indicated a very successful evening.

The cash card raffle winners were 1st – $300 Oscar Manuel (Palmers Island);  2nd – $200 Josie Castle (Shoes at Carneys Arcade); 3rd – $100 Cheryl Paine (Penny’s Sweet Tooth). Congratulations to all our winners.

We wish our community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2023.
