Inappropriate developments

Ed,
On a recent drive into Yamba, I noticed quite a few “Stop the Fill” signs in residents’ front yards. Perhaps the people of Yamba should have paid more attention to who they were voting for in the previous Clarence Council Valley Council elections.
We have had a number of “Gung Ho” for development Councillors elected in previous elections, many from the local business council. We have even had real estate developers elected to Council. If you put a fox in charge of the henhouse, you shouldn’t be surprised that the hens start disappearing.
As a result of voter stupidity, we now have inappropriate developments approved in Gulmarrad, James Creek and the new canal estates in Yamba. It has been said that voters get the sort of government they deserve. How true!
