Iluka women bowlers ‘Cuppa for Cancer’ fundraiser

Under the guidance of Margaret Caldwell the ‘Cuppa for Cancer’ was recently held at the Iluka Bowls Club.

The yearly event is well patronised by our locals, and whilst rain threatened to dampen the event, the population in Iluka rallied for the cause.

The members of the ladies club baked an abundance of cakes and slices which were enjoyed with a steady flow of tea and coffee.

Stalls of plants, produce, crafts and donated items added to the morning takings.

We thank all the local businesses that made donations, both financially and in kind; also the many individuals who donated so generously.

Between the hours of 10am and noon we saw approximately 100 attendees who all appeared to enjoy the opportunity to catch up with friends; with many picking up a great raffle prize.

All prizes were donated by club members and generous locals.

A total of $4070 was raised on the day and the generosity of the Iluka Bowls Club saw a further donation added to increase the funds raised to $5000.

Great work ladies and thanks again to our wonderful community.
