Housing crisis

Ed,

While homeless flood victims on the North Coast are feeling desperate and will have another six months wait to find out exactly what they are eligible for, MPs and senators can still claim $299 per night tax free ‘living away from home allowance’ while in Canberra. Many own these homes – to pay them hundreds of thousands per year to stay in their own home seems an obscenity.

As a gesture of goodwill maybe they could forgo this money and I’m sure flood victims could do with $299 per night.

It was also recently reported many of these politicians own multiple properties. Wonder if they have a little twinge of guilt.
