Great memories and good stories

Connect You Too (CU2) recently celebrated two volunteers, Les Preston and Andrew Soesan, during a morning tea to mark their retirement from volunteering as drivers. Andrew has driven for CU2 since 2014 and Les since 2015.

“Both drivers are heading into retirement after many fond memories for the service,” said CU2 General Manager, Kerry Little.

“We are always on the lookout for more volunteers to come on board,” she said.

“Les couldn’t continue to drive anymore, but he was still keen to contribute as a volunteer and helped us with the folding and distributing of our most recent newsletter.”

“During Covid, we have still managed to get the Clarence Valley community to their appointments, to the shops and to socialise on many of our social tours. Volunteers play a vital role in our services,” Kerry said.

“I got to meet lots of interesting people, work with a good team, drive nice cars, I had the opportunity to do some of my own shopping and visit people while waiting for customers,” said retiring driver, Andrew.

“I would recommend anyone considering volunteering with Connect You Too.”

“I have great memories and good stories from social gatherings,” Andrew said.
