While beloved Grafton born husband and wife singing sensations Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley took home three trophies at the prestigious 2023 Toyota 51st Golden Guitar Awards in Tamworth on January 21, it was their gorgeous 10-year-old daughter Tiggy Eckersley who made history as the youngest winner at Australia’s premier country music event.

Smiling brightly, Tiggy accompanied her parents on stage after Star of the Show, a beautiful and heartfelt ballad she co-wrote with them and Dan Biederman, was announced as the Song of the Year.

“Tiggy was just playing this riff (on piano) over and over again in the lounge room when she was about six, and we loved it,” Adam said as Brooke humorously recalled asking their daughter if they “could steal it.”

“I also said ‘we’ll put you on the song, do you mind if we write a song about you?’” she added.

“‘You’ll get paid.’”

While her dad lifted her up to the microphone, her first Golden Guitar in her hands, Tiggy graciously thanked the audience for the award as Brooke looked on lovingly and wiped away tears of joy.

Following its release last year, Star of the Show shot to the top of the iTunes chart, and Tiggy was given a rousing reception as she performed the song alongside Adam, Brooke, and Dan in Tamworth over the weekend.

While Brooke and Adam presented the Golden Guitar for New Talent of the Year, the proud parents spoke passionately as they expressed their hopes of seeing their daughter “here in this category in years to come.”

Earlier in the evening, Brooke and Adam also took home the Golden Guitar for Apple Music Single of the Year with Memory Lane, which shares the story of how they met and became a couple, and the Golden Guitar for Country Music Capital News Group or Duo of the Year.

Brooke and Adam also received a nomination for CMT Video of the Year for Star of the Show, directed by Brad Murnane.

During an interview with The Project on January 22, Tiggy said she was very excited to receive a Golden Guitar, and her parents let her drink as much soft drink as she liked as they celebrated as a family.
