Grafton Senior Citizens, October meeting

Grafton Seniors October meeting saw an attendance of 40, with four apologies.

New member, we welcomed Ann Norton.

Guest speaker Rachel Farmer from ‘My Aged Care’, spoke on availability of this service. A meeting for an assessment can be arranged by contacting Rachel at Centrelink. She mentioned services now available for home care and residential aged care. 

There was no correspondence in, and we sent out, sympathy and get-well cards.

Coach trip to Byron Bay finalised. With no November picnic, next trips will be in 2023, and ideas are currently being considered.   

General discussion included a successful barbecue recently held. Bookings are now open for our annual Christmas lunch on Friday December 2, with two course lunch, and entertainment by ‘Cruisin Broadway’. The day will also include drawing of the Christmas competition, and the announcement of seniors of the year. Donations of hamper items for competition prizes will be welcome. 

Meeting competition winners were J. Hawken; B. O’Donohoe; N. Williams; D. McLean; J. Berry; D. Bailey; J. Cavanagh.    

Next meeting is 10.30am on Tuesday November 8, with guest speaker, Jessica Stamper, from the NSW Police.
