Grafton Probus starts their year

A busy year has begun for Probus over the last month.

Our first coffee morning at the Flame Tree Café attracted 18 members and was followed by ten pin bowling, which had 10 people attend. Twenty-seven members enjoyed this month’s luncheon at the Village Green Hotel. Thank you to the hotel for moving us inside to counter the extreme heat on the day. ‘King Richard’ was the movie for February’s ‘Choc Top’ day. There were 11 members at the Saraton and 12 attended our games afternoon.

New members, Pam Bonnett and Tony O’Grady were inducted into the club by President, Paula Payne at our February general meeting. Mark Butler from Independent Living demonstrated some of the hundreds of devices and vehicles available for those people who need some assistance in being self-reliant. Forty-one members heard Bill Greenlees recite “The Man from Iron Bark” to celebrate Banjo Patterson’s birthday, with most staying after the meeting for a GSDC lunch.

This month’s activities begin on Friday March 4 at the Saraton for a viewing of ‘Belfast’.

Our AGM will be at the GDSC on March 17 beginning at 10am.
