Grafton CWA Branch hold their AGM

Grafton Branch held its AGM on Friday October 9 at 10am in our Duke Street rooms.

Mrs Leonie Fish South Grafton Evening Branch president supervised the election of office bearers for 2020/2021, the results are as follows:

Awareness week was held September 6 to September 13 and the theme for 2020 was domestic violence.

Members voted to donate items of clothing, toiletry requirements, for mother and item of clothing and a toy for a child or children. Owing to outstanding response from our members we were able to donate two large hampers of goods to “Momentum Collective for distribution to their clients. A big thank you to all our members who donated to this worthy cause.

Business arising in our Branch meeting for State AGM will be held in Bega 2021 with travel and accommodation booking deposit of $250 required November 2020.

Showground markets will be held Saturday October 17, cooking and raffle tickets will be sold on the day.

Grafton CWA branch have recently had a reverse cycle air conditioner installed with a grant which was received from Club Grants NSW. This was most gratefully received, and we now have a much more pleasant environment during summer months.

North Coast Group AGM will be held in Woolgoolga on October 21, due to COVID-19 restrictions two members per branch are to attend.

A small catering committee for the Branch was discussed and names were taken, and this will be formed in the near future.

Our CWA meeting will be held Friday November 13, our in-house cookery competition is a carrot cake. The recipe may be found in the June CWA journal. Morning tea will be served at 9.30am and meeting to commence at 10am.

Craft mornings are held in our rooms in Duke Street and has been well attended. Next craft morning will be Monday October 26 and Monday November 9 at 9.30am; come and join us for morning tea and bring along your craft item, you will be made most welcome.
