Grafton CWA

The meeting held at the CWA on December 10 in our Duke Street rooms saw 18 members in attendance and four apologies were accepted.

The North Coast Group Council AGM was held on December 1 at Salvation Army Hall in Coffs Harbour. Congratulations to Lesley McFarlane who was nominated to be new group agricultural and environmental officer, and the winner of the Agricultural and Environmental Trophy. Congratulations to Annette Douglas who was re-elected Vice President and Narelle Saunders re-elected land cookery officer. Congratulations to Cheryl Barnes winner for best Cultural Book.

In house cookery for December was a dark fruit cake, several cakes were presented with the results: 1st – Lesley McFarlane; 2nd – Narelle Saunders; 3rd – Wendy Proud.

Christmas lunch was held at the Grafton District Services Club, thank you to the members who supplied table decorations and sweets, thank you to all the members who attended the lunch.

This was our final meeting for 2021 and I wish to thank our members participation throughout the year and adhering to the Covid-19 restrictions.

Thank you to the CV Independent newspaper for publishing our monthly reports. On behalf of Grafton CWA, I would like to wish you all at the CV Independent news office a merry Christmas and a happy New year 2022.

Next meeting will be held Friday February 11, with morning tea being served at 9. 30am and the meeting commencing at 10am. Any ladies wishing to join us will be made most welcome.

Handicraft mornings will be held February 14, and February 28 at 9.30am in our Duke Street rooms. Morning tea will be served come and join us and enjoy a chat and a cuppa.
