GDSC lads in fine form to qualify for Zone & State play-offs

It’s been a very successful past few weeks on the green for the men at the GDSC Bowling Club.

It began when our Open Triples team of Gary Harrison, Mark Walsh & Tony Lickiss (Skip) were successful in winning the Zone 1 title, with a 27 – 13 win in the final. This now qualifies them for the NSW State Triples finals in March 2024 at Dubbo. Congratulations guys and we wish you every success in your quest to secure the state title.

Our Seniors Men’s Triples side of Rob Ulrick, Rob Power & Keith Garner also played very well to finish runners up in Zone 1 Senior Triples…well done fellas.

Our Open Men’s Singles representative Mark Walsh competed at his usual high standard, but on the day his opponent was just too good.

Our Reserve Singles representative Jason Ryan conquered all before him to take the Zone 1 South Reserve Singles title and thus qualifying for the Zone 1 play-offs this Sunday in Lismore…and again we wish Jason the best of luck.

Then, to follow this, our district winning Reserve Fours side of Brian Napper, Jamie Evans, Greg (Squizzy) Taylor and Jason Ryan have also qualified for the Zone play-offs, again in Lismore this coming Saturday… Go get’em lads.

Then to top it all off, our ‘Seniors’ team of Peter Gillespie, Gary Harrison, Robby Power & Alan Knox (Skip) were also successful in securing the Zone 1 South Senior Fours title, and now qualify for the Zone 1 play-offs… well done guys.

All in all, a very successful week for our club and we hope your success is only just beginning. Good luck to everyone.

In club championship news, our Minor Singles Championship is in full swing with a number of matches being played in the past two weeks.
