GDSC bowls annual June Carnival
What a busy week it has been, especially on the weekend.
Saturday saw the annual June Carnival, with a full complement of teams, playing three games of 14 ends. The tournament was so close that there was one game that was finished under light and in the late shower that swept over. After some great bowls and close games, congratulations go to the winners, Bruce Martin and Tony Lickiss, who won by 3 ends in a very tight tournament.
Thank you to all who helped with the tournament, especially Allan Gough and Jacobi Basset who looked after the scoreboard and all of the players.
Friday and Wednesday bowls are going to be played as triples for the next month as the number one Green is coming up to be resurfaced.
All the bowlers are looking forward to this and are curious to see how the new surface will differ from the existing carpet.
A general reminder that the area around the green will become a work site, so everyone is advised to stay away from the Green and surrounds for their own safety.
Good luck to all the bowlers who are heading off to Red Rock to take part in the 2 day tournament.
