Extraordinary mosaic completed at the Glenreagh Golden Dog

An extraordinary mosaic pavement beneath the Glenreagh Golden Dog is reaching completion at last.

It has taken 6 months for community artist Pamela Denise and 30 Glenreagh community members to create the 24m2 artwork. The mosaic depicts the Glenreagh village, Tallawadjah Creek valley and the majestic Dorrigo plateau as viewed from the sandstone escarpment to the north.

The official opening is on Saturday June 19 at 1.30pm. It includes a brief artist talk by Pamela explaining the features and techniques used in the installation. The mosaic project is an initiative of Glenreagh Heartstart and funded by St Vincent’s de Paul Society NSW.

This event is part of the Cedar and Steam Art Exhibition showing at the Glenreagh School of Arts on Friday June 18 from 6 – 8.30pm and Saturday 19 from 9am – 3pm.
