Driver’s lucky escape following single vehicle accident

Emma Pritchard A 36-year-old woman from Jackadgery will appear in court after crashing her vehicle on the Gwydir Highway. Shortly before 11pm on January 7, the woman was travelling west towards Jackadgery when she lost control of her Holden ute and crashed into an embankment. The driver was uninjured, and the vehicle sustained superficial damage. No other vehicles were involved in the incident. After failing a roadside breath test, the woman was taken to a nearby police station where she recorded a high range blood alcohol level and was subsequently charged. Despite double demerits no longer being enforced, the Coffs/Clarence Police District continue to urge drivers to be responsible while travelling on the state’s roads and to not drink and drive.
