Competitors travel from interstate for Grafton Regatta

cvi   Rowers travelled from all over Australia to compete in last weekend’s Head of the River rowing Regatta, in Grafton. Chairman of the City of Grafton, Head of the River committee Neville Doughan said that the weekend’s regatta was very well attended. “Numbers were down a bit on Saturday but this was due to the distance school children had to travel (from interstate) to compete,” he said. “It was great to see the guys who came over from Western Australia and also the ‘masters’ rowers who came up from Geelong. “Kings (grammar school) from Sydney has helped raise the standard and encouraged other schools to attend,” said Mr Doughan.
