Clarence Valley Council will hold two community information sessions on Thursday March 21 for the proposed Rushforth Water Treatment Plant upgrades.
The Rushforth Water Treatment Plant has been servicing the Clarence Valley Council Local Government Area for over a century, and Council is now seeking planning approval to upgrade the plant to ensure ongoing water quality, capacity and security of potable water for residents.
The planning approval process includes the development of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which is a detailed report that investigates the potential environmental, heritage, social and economic impacts of the proposed upgrades.
Community engagement forms an important part of the EIS process as feedback from the community and other key stakeholders is used to inform the project design and planning phase.
