The owners of a Maclean medical imaging clinic that was destroyed by fire in November 2023 have confirmed the permanent closure of the facility.

Last week, Qcan Group Northern NSW Regional Manager, Kelly Wyatt confirmed the permanent closure of Clarence Valley Imaging Maclean.

Ms Wyatt said the radiology clinic suffered a catastrophic fire in November and the Group has been working with insurance providers since the incident.

Patients are able to access services from Clarence Valley Imaging’s Grafton clinic.

Patients should always visit their nearest hospital in the event of an emergency.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the local community for the outpouring of support we have received since the fire,” Ms Wyatt said.

“Our referring practitioners and patients have been extremely gracious and understanding and we know that the clinic will be missed.”

Q Scan Group were hopeful of reopening in Maclean once the premises were rebuilt, but those hopes have also been destroyed.

Q Scan Group Chief Operating Officer, Matthew Bellairs confirmed the landlord owning the site of the former clinic had advised they were not going to rebuild.

“We are sad to have lost a beautiful clinic in a vibrant local community but look forward to welcoming our patients to our Grafton clinic where they will see a lot of familiar faces and experience the same caring service,” he said.

Patients from the Clarence Valley can still access a wide range of services at Clarence Valley Imaging Grafton including, Digital x-ray, Ultrasound, CT, Interventional procedures, MRI, Mammography, Dental imaging and OPG, Bone mineral densitometry, and DXA.
