Carol Miller is Yamba nine-hole champion

There were 48 players in last Wednesday’s Monthly Medal round. The windy conditions interspersed with light showers created challenging conditions for some; however, some impressive scores were still evident in all three grades.

Results

The medallists were: Janine Zietsch – A Grade; Glen Czarnota – B Grade and Jacky Penfold – C Grade. Janine was also awarded Best Overall Putting (28) and took home a $20 Cafe Marina voucher for her efforts.

The A Grade winner, playing outstanding golf, was Janine Zietsch (70) who also won the Putting (28). Janine was followed closely by r/up, Fiona Smart, (71).

The Gross winner was Darrie Nightingale (83).

Playing consistently, Glen Czarnota was the B Grade winner (72) and Gross winner (98) and the r/up, Julie Campbell (73), was not far behind. Putting was won by Fay Gimenez (32 c/b).

C Grade was won by a very excited Jacky Penfold (69). Lesley Love had a great day as r/up (74 c/b), Gross winner (111) and C Grade Putter (29).

There were five players in Wednesday’s nine-hole competition and Carol Miller was the winner.

Friday’s event was the first Single Stableford round in a month. There were light winds and cloud cover for the 47 players and the best two scores came from Division 3 where Prue Leggoe came in to win with a fabulous 42pts and Jacky Penfold backed up some fabulous recent golf with 40pts c/b as r/up. It was also great to see Suzie Prosser, one of our newest members, in the winners’ circle.

In other results, Div 1 was won by Jennifer Moody with 36pts. Jennifer Fagan was r/up with 34pts c/b.

Fay Gimenez (39pts) won Div 2, followed by Suzie Prosser (36pts). 

Our NTP winners were: Flots and Jets 3rd – Robyn Brockwell; Valley Finance 3rd (2nd) – Suzie Prosser; Peter Campbell Physio 9th (2nd) – Val Pate; Kitchen to Table 10th – Barbara Moore; Amie Rose Beauty 12th – Lisa Marsh; Nicholson’s Fine Foods 17th – Barbara Moore and Yamba Pharmacy 17th (2nd) – Julie Duncan. Balls were awarded to 35 pts c/b.

No Saturday competition was held due to rain.
