Brushgrove Juniors

Brushgrove Cricket Club under 12’s faced yet another experienced team (Yamba) at Angourie No 1 oval over the weekend. We’re sorry if you turned up to Brushgrove Oval to watch the juniors as reported in last week’s article. A last minute change to Yamba was required to help with the predicted temps of 40 degrees and the fact our 1st grade seniors team had their first clash at Yamba No 1 oval. The Brushy juniors are picking up the game skills quickly and are all advancing in their bowling and batting. They managed to keep Yamba to 110 runs but sadly fell short in the run chase with 74 runs posted after the last over of play. It’s unfortunate, but in every game we have played this year we have come up against kids 12 years and over. These over age kids obviously bring years of experience to the game and when all of our brushy kids have only played four games it’s a bit hard to be competitive. But we live and learn and the kids are keeping their heads high knowing that they are all under the correct age to play this great game.
