Brave Amigo wins the day

We had a visit from three enthusiastic local amigos on Tuesday at Bravehearts. They joined us in a Stableford match on the front nine holes at Maclean golf course. Although they hadn’t planned on a competition round, they were keen to join us.

Mick Florie (Swan Creek h/cap – 36) and his pals Guy and Tony were welcomed with free range golf ball packs, then Mick came in with a winning score. He managed a clean 19 points and a NTP on the 7th hole to take home a bottle of Rose plus liquorice allsorts pack. Not a bad haul for the morning outing guys. See you again soon.

Gaz Taylor was also in form with a 19-point score with 4 pars from some remarkable recovery shots that weren’t really on, firing from the rough to land on the greens in regulation (Yamba Cinema pass for his prize). Close behind was Janet Radcliffe (winning a knife pack) with 18 points. Excellent stuff Janet. Third place was taken by Marilyn Hopkins with 17 points also for a Yamba Cinema pass. She also took the 2nd hole NTP and was awarded the Kit Kat prize which was shared by hungry stayers after the game. Thanks Marilyn and John.

Trevor Wright had a trying morning with his irons but was delighted with his winning low 14 putt tally. He donated his Caperberry Cafe prize back to the prize chest.

Thanks to all for supporting Maclean GC and the Maclean Hospital Auxiliary. We’ll see you again next Tuesday at 8.30am at Maclean GC for another bash.
