Big River Sailing Club Championship Round

Fluctuating winds early on Saturday proved challenging for those out on the water getting some practice before the club championship round.

However, the breeze snapped around to the southeast an hour before the race started which meant some nice reaches for the afternoon racing.

There was a smaller than usual fleet for a club championship round. Bob and Bryan battled it out in Div 1 which consisted of 4 Wetas with Bob victorious. In Div 2, James proved all conquering winning both races. The big improver however is team Law who are finding extra gears on their Tasar.

Results

Div 1: Race 1 and Race 2 – Bob Eggins, Bryan Linnett, Craig Rutledge.

Div 2: Race 1 – James Harrison, Hariet Woodrow, Hamish Robertson. Race 2James Harrison, Wayne Culph, Hariet Woodrow.

Notes

There have also been a number of members travelling to compete at other events and regattas. Hamish and Hariet competed at the NSW Sabre State Championships at Taree with Hariet claiming first in women’s and overall 5th scratch and Hamish 2nd on handicap results.

Congratulations to Gus who competed in the NSW Impulse State Championships at Saratoga, finishing mid-fleet in a quality field.
