ARTISTS WANTED: Flood stories for public artworks

From Baryulgil to Brooms Head, Coutts Crossing to Chatsworth Island, Ulong to Ulmarra – we want your flood stories.

Artists are invited to create a design or artwork on a plywood panel (supplied) that shares stories of the 2022 floods. Stories of our towns and villages, of resilience and rebuilding, and respect for the mighty Clarence River.

Panels will be available for collection from Tuesday 23 May from Grafton Regional Gallery. Collection is advised in a trailer or utility.

Panels will need to be completed and delivered to the Grafton Regional Gallery between 12 and 23 June 2023 between 10am and 4pm. Artist fees are payable.

People can also get involved in painting panels for the planter boxes on Prince Street (pictured above) or draw chalk art on the footpath as part of the Prince Street Marketta in Grafton from 3.30pm to 9pm next Saturday 20 May. Drop into the Art Tent on the day to participate. The Prince Street Marketta is a free event as part of the NSW Government funded Rediscover Grafton project.
