Around 4 a.m. this morning the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was tasked on a primary mission to a pedestrian accident on the Bruxner Highway between Alstonville and Ballina.
A 24 year old male was hit by a vehicle doing approximately 100 km/h.
He suffered multiple injuries(legs, pelvis, head) and was treated on scene by NSWA paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team before placed in a medically induced coma.
The patient was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
