Grafton Probus AGM

Grafton Probus held its March meeting and AGM on March 18 at the Grafton District Services Club.

Thirty-nine members saw President elect, Paula Payne, induct new members, Debbie Handley, Jo Leigh and Rosalie Reville into the club and she presented each with a ‘Probus Passport’. The club is now approaching a membership of 60.

We had a successful games afternoon and choc-top day this month. Our mid-day lunch at the Blue Goose Hotel had a record attendance of 39 members. Many thanks to the Blue Goose team, who opened the kitchen for us on a Tuesday. Our Book Club members also had an interesting, guided tour of the Grafton Library to view its resources.

This month’s activities include:

Choc-top days at the Saraton Theatre on March 31 and April 22.

Mid-day lunch at the Village Green Hotel on April 6.

Book Club on April 28.

Games afternoon on April 30.

Our general meeting will be held at the GDSC on April 15 at 10am.

The Annual General Meeting followed with Nathan Whiteside, CEO of the Services Club, taking the chair for the elections.

Paula Payne was confirmed as President and Bill Greenlees as Hon. Secretary. Paula welcomed new committee member Libby Notaras to the team. She also thanked two members, who chose not to stand again, Doreen Schuhmacher and Peter Chessell, for their services to the club over several years.

Persons interested in joining the club can ring Paula Payne on 6642 8797.
