Small numbers today to enjoy a lovely sunny winter day on the green. There were three game of pairs – with the winners for the day B. Cross, S. Gill d P. Conley, J. Beaumont. Two other games involved J. Gill, J. Boyd d M. Abbott, R. Moore and R. Dickson, M. Parker d M. Stone, J. Coulter.

Thursday June 24

A different story today weatherwise. A bleak, cold wintry day for the commencement of this year’s Minor Singles – one scheduled game and one of the byes – arranged for early play by our very flexible Match Committee who work hard to ensure that players are able to avoid a forfeit when they have an unavoidable commitment on the scheduled day of play.  So, in the scheduled game M. Abbott d P. Conley 25 – 7 and in the early game C. Mazoudier d P. Chilcott 25 – 18.

More games were schedule for Tuesday of this week.

The Pennant and District Presentation Day held at Red Rock was enjoyed by all attendees. Thank you to Red Rock Women’s Bowling Club for what was an enjoyable day of bowls, a lovely lunch and much enthusiastic applause for all those receiving awards on the day.

We were very proud to have our Carol Ritale (District Singles Champion) and Carol – again with Lois for the District Senior Pairs, followed by our intrepid No 4 Pennant side – all receiving their awards and pins and the cherished Pennant flag to take home.

Thank you to our District Committee for their hard work for the success of the day.

Don’t forget entries for the Blue Pacific Pairs to be held on Tuesday August 3. Entry forms are available on the women’s board and to be completed and handed with entry fee of $25 per player to secretary, Joan.
