Yamba golfers celebrate Christmas

The Multiplier Event in conjunction with a Single Stableford was contested last Wednesday by 51 ladies.

Results

Sonya McLennan and Ann Schuhmacher scored a fabulous 78pts to win the Multiplier and in daily results, Helen Collins (38pts) was the Div 1 winner and Lyn Rowland 37pts c/b was the r/up. Lynne Eke (36pts c/b) and Jo Simmons 36pts were the two best Div 2 scorers while Sonya McLennan had a fantastic 40pts to outscore Julie Duncan (37pts) in Div 3.

Wednesday’s nine-hole winner was Karen Mills who scored a fabulous 21pts in a field of 11. Congratulations go to Lorraine Stokes r/up (18pts) while Prue McLaughlin won the NTP.

Last Friday had 50 ladies playing in its Single Stableford format.

Div 1’s Glen Czarnota and Daphne Hinshaw (r/up) both scored 39pts and visited countback to determine the winner. Gwynne Thomas (39pts) won Div 2 and Jenny Muir (38pts) was r/up. Noni Rixon (36pts c/b) and Sandra Russo (36pts) were the Div 3 winner and r/up.

The Saturday ladies celebrated after their play with a Christmas Lunch and Presentation last week. With 12 ladies in the field, Gillian Holst won with 37pts while Tiffany Lee was r/up (35pts) and scored a birdie to win the NTP. It was a fantastic day for the ladies to acknowledge the friendships created through the Saturday competition. 

Yamba ladies will participate in a fun 11-hole Par 3 round then celebrate the end of 2023 with the Christmas Luncheon and Annual Presentation this Wednesday. The Summer Pro Shop competition will follow on Friday.

Each following Wednesday will be ‘ladies only’. Friday Competitions will be ‘Mixed – Men and Women’. Please enter online or through the Pro Shop.
