Woodworkers back after three years

The Clarence Valley Woodworkers Association are very excited to be presenting their very popular Jacaranda Woodcraft Exhibition and competition again this year after a three-year recess brought on by Covid restrictions.

Although the event has not been able to go ahead in the last three years, the long and strong history of this club and the fine craftsmanship by its members will be on display for all to view over the Jacaranda Festival this year.

The Jacaranda Woodworkers Exhibition is one of the premier woodworkers’ events on the Australian calendar and this year’s event is one not to be missed.

With the keen interest of established members to develop and improve even more on past performances, and the addition of new members bringing fresh ideas and skills to the craft, this year’s exhibition is sure to have something of interest to everyone.

The competition display is ever popular with the finest of skills and exotic timbers combining to make exquisite and unique items vying for the converted 1st place cards along with the anticipated display of items in the novice and the schools’ sections.

Some of the items on display will feature skills in woodturning, wood carving, cabinet and furniture making, intarsia, bandsaw boxes, toy making and the special effects including resins, air-spraying and pyrography.

The exhibition will be open each day of Jacaranda from Saturday October 29 to Sunday November 6. Opening hours will be from 11am to 5pm each day except Sunday 6th. Opening hours will be 11am to 1pm.

Members will be conducting demonstrations in the art of fine woodwork and club members will be on hand to answer enquiries about this craft and membership of the club.

The Woodworkers Association would like to thank the sponsors of this event and value their support in making this event one of the highlights of the Jacaranda Festival.

The venue of the Exhibition is again the South Grafton Ex-Services Club, Wharf Street South Grafton and members of the Woodworkers Association are appreciative of the support and excellent amenities provided to both the participating members and the viewing public.
