Repairs to Marine Parade are expected to be completed by the end of the month – weather permitting.

The works to the Yamba Main Beach access road which started on August 22 are taking longer than initially expected due to the scale of the damage caused by the prolonged weather event and flooding earlier this year.

Work includes temporary repairs to the road pavement to enable light vehicle and pedestrian access to the beach, surf club and cafe, and the Yamba Ocean Pool.

Planning and design work is underway for a permanent repair of the road and to improve drainage on site.

Marine Parade has been closed since March after record rainfall resulted in increased instability and some erosion on the slopes of Pilot Hill.
