Tune in again in 2023

It was music to their ears when aspiring Clarence Valley singers and songwriters learned a popular home-grown event is set to make a return in 2023.

Aimed at providing local artists with an opportunity to perform live, promote their music, and boost their confidence on stage, Clarence Tunes received an overwhelming volume of positive feedback after it was held at the Maclean Bowling Club on February 26, and organiser Nash Crofton is excited to bring the music festival back next year.

“It meant so much to the community when we held Clarence Tunes earlier this year, and we want to re-create that again to support local and emerging musicians in 2023,” Nash explained.

“It will mean young musicians from all over the Clarence Valley will have the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience and gain the valuable experience of performing that will help them get their careers started.

“Clarence Tunes means so much to our local community, and I’m really excited the event is coming back again next year.”

While discussions to hold Clarence Tunes in 2023 first began after the event was held earlier this year, Nash said a lot of work went on behind the scenes in the lead up to the recent announcement on October 24 of its highly anticipated return.

“I want to continue to grow Clarence Tunes and give our talented local performers as many opportunities as possible,” he said.

“We might even have a headline act next year, and we want to try and give a new line-up of performers the chance to be a part of Clarence Tunes.

“We’re doing a shout out in November and December and calling for expressions of interest from local artists.”

Nash is encouraging Clarence Valley musicians to visit www.clarencetunes.com.au to register their interest.

He is hopeful of having upwards of 14 performers at Clarence Tunes next year.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Maclean Showground on March 25.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased from the Clarence Tunes website.
