The GIMY Shield is a friendship day played every year it stands for Grafton, Iluka, Maclean, Yamba and the shield depicts all things local to the Clarence Valley, it was first played for in 2006 and is hosted by one of the four clubs on a rotation basis.

On Friday, the Annual GIMY Shield day was hosted by Maclean lady golfers this year, and we were blessed with fine weather on a course in great condition, thanks to green staff and our hard-working volunteers.

Ball rundown went to 33 points.

The teams’ event was won by Vero Morgan, Julie Campbell, Peg James and Carol Mc Pherson.

A big thankyou to the girls who jumped in and helped the committee set up the club and bring in some lovely home-made treats for afternoon tea, what a great bunch of lady golfers we have at Maclean, and who made this day so successful.
