The severe hail storm which swept through Grafton last Saturday caused significant damage to homes and cars.  Members and guests of the South Grafton Bowls Club were enjoying their Christmas party when the storm hit around lunch time. “It was quite a spectacle and unfortunately some of our vehicles were damaged,” said Mal Myers. Saturday’s ‘Head of the Clarence River’ rowing regatta was one of the victims of the storm, with a number of expensive boats suffering hail damage (see separate report). Geoff Wicks from Clarence Coast Motors said that the majority of cars that were exposed to hail at the dealership did receive minor damage, but at the end of the day they will all be discounted to be sold quickly, so it can also be a big win for our customers.
