Rivertree premiere draws large crowd

The world premiere of Rivertree, a film that depicts the extraordinary beauty of the Clarence River and the need to save this valuable resource from invasive mining in the catchment, was a huge success last Saturday night as more than 1000 people enjoyed a balmy evening watching the film as it was projected onto the Yamba water tower.

The film follows the story of two lifelong friends, adventurer and mother Hayley Talbot, and well-known local surfer and educator, Dan Ross, as they paddle down the Clarence River and speak to locals on the way, uncovering plans for cobalt and copper mines in the river’s catchment.

Mrs Talbot told the CV Independent the response to the film had been outstanding, and there was an incredible turnout on Saturday night for “our home waters”.

“We had 1400 signs ups for the event and would have had very close to that actually there on the night,” she said.
