Reved up and raring to go

Our July Monthly Medal and 2nd Gwlad Murray rounds were held in perfect conditions for the 56 ladies who participated last Wednesday July 14


Div 1 was won by Ann Groom (74) with Jeannie Doolan hot on her heels (75).The gross winner was Darrie Nightingale (85) while putting was won by Ann Groom (28 putts).

In Div 2, Moira Morrow (75) came in ahead of the field to win. The r/up was Gillian Holst (77 c/b). Gross winner was Jane Bonner (103 c/b), and the putting was won by Carrie Aitken (31 putts c/b).

In Div 3, it was great to see Terri Collingburn (75) and Lyn Bartley (76 c/b) come in winner and r/up. Ann Schuhmacher was the gross winner (111) and best putter (28 putts) and her putting accuracy also won her overall best putting on c/b. Balls were awarded to 77 c/b. Monthly medallists were: A Grade – Ann Groom; B Grade – Di Sigle and C Grade – Moira Morrow.

Wednesday NTP went to: Yamba Medical Centre 3rd – Denise Ginn; Yamba Florist, Debbie May 3rd (2nd) – Angie Walpole; Leonie May Millinery 9th (2nd) – Lyn Rowland; Yamba Fair Butchery 10th – Sue Wilson; The Shoe Boutique 12th – Jennifer Fagan; Clovelly Fashions, Maclean 17th – Prue Webb (visitor)

and The Wobbly Chook 17th (2nd) – Julie Vernol

Wednesday’s nine-hole competition was won by Sam Brown (22pts) in a field of 16 ladies. Sam was also the NTP winner on the 12th and 17th. Jacky Penfold was Runner Up (19 pts).

For the 58 ladies (29 pairs) involved in Friday’s 2BBB v Stableford round, it wasn’t the most pleasant morning for golf with the heavens opening mid-morning.

The results were: winners – Terri Collingburn/Jacky Penfold 49pts; runners up – Denise Ginn/Lesley Love 45pts c/b; 2nd r/up – Fay Gimenez/Sonya McLennan 45pts.

Balls went to 42pts.

There were 11 ladies who played on Saturday, including Prue Webb (Barwon Heads). The winner with 31pts was Jane Bonner. Runner up on a c/b was Gwynne Thomas and Nadene Carroll won NTP.
