Palm Lake golf – four at the top

It was great to see a fine day last week with the course open to carts as well as a full complement of players for our Stableford round and considering all the rain we have had over the last few weeks the course was in excellent condition.

Our group decided to make it difficult to determine results, as although Bruce Douglass won clearly with 22 points, there were no fewer than four players returning 20 points. Steve Dorrell popped up in clear second on a standard countback and the others had to be separated hole by hole, with Tony Turner edging out Ken Hall and Kevin Moran for third place. We’re not sure whether this is just coincidence or great handicapping – Denis Kelly loudly proclaims the latter!

NTPs saw Peter Jarman win on the 10th but his game deteriorated severely from there. Tony Turner had a splendid birdie to win on the 12th and Ken Hall took the 17th and was surprised that it held up as he was in an early group and he reckoned that it wasn’t all that close.

Golfers of any standard are welcome to join us on any Tuesday. All that is required is to be at the course ready to play by 7.30am and we’ll fit you in to one of our groups.
