Goodness me, another week bites the dust and brings us to our Mother’s Day celebrations next Friday. I don’t know about you, but for me, Mother’s Day somehow heralds the start of winter and visions of open fires, fluffy slippers, warm dressing gowns and family. No doubt Pat will have the tables decorated beautifully as we celebrate the Day. Don’t worry boys, we will spoil you too.
It was a lovely friendly chatty day last Friday and I thought Marcia’s contribution with the prayer for the elderly was just gorgeous. It is certainly a bonus to be able to greet old age with humour and humility; far better to be happy, not sad, and certainly good to have a plan to keep our children on the hop. In fact I think we should think of more ways to attract their attention. Remember when they used to throw paddys in the supermarket? Well I have always wanted to do that as an adult. It could be real fun; but what if I couldn’t get up after thrashing about on the floor?
It was sad to learn that Marj will no longer be attending Osprey as she is moving into care in Grafton where she can be closer to her daughter; thank you Marj for years and years of fun and fascination, your dry wit and friendship. You have made so many friends along the way and we will miss you. Our love and best wishes go with you as you make this new transition.
Don’t forget your flu shots. We all need to be fit and healthy. Our numbers were slightly down last week for one reason or another, but all hands should be on deck this week.
Anyone wishing to join our happy throng please ring Leanne on 0413 101 518.
