Organisers looking forward to “a top Lawrence Rodeo”

Excitement is building for this year’s Lawrence Twilight Rodeo, which will be held at the Maclean Showground on Saturday December 28.

The main event will kick-off from 6pm, with plenty of action guaranteed.

President of the Lawrence Rodeo committee Bruce Green said that with the good numbers of nominations received so far, this year’s rodeo was shaping up to be a top event.

“The feature at this year’s rodeo will be the Want’s Construction ‘Winner Takes All – chute out’, where the top eight scores from the Open Bull Ride event, will battle it out for the $2000 prize,” Mr Green said.

“This year’s prize money in the ‘Winner takes All – chute out’, has doubled,” he said.

Mr Green said that another feature of the Rodeo will be the introduction of ‘mini’ bulls.

“We’ve got specialised mini bulls that are quiet for the kids to ride (in the mini bull riding event). The special attraction will see some of the 8 to 11 year-olds and 11 to 14 year-olds, have a go at mini bull riding,” he said.

Mr Green said that this event will replace the Novice Saddle Bronc Ride.
