With the weather continuing to disrupt our golfing calendar, the flexibility and patience of our ladies is being greatly appreciated.
At the moment, only a small amount of rain is enough to close the course as it is already saturated after weeks and weeks of heavy, uninterrupted falls.
If weather permits, this Wednesday’s round will be our rescheduled Monthly Medal with Friday being a Single Stableford format. We are all collectively crossing our fingers for some fine weather.
The rescheduled GIMY (Grafton, Iluka, Maclean, Yamba) Shield which was to be played this week will now be held later in the year on a date which is yet to be decided.
We have four ladies who will be participating in the upcoming Kyogle Open Day and 14 ladies who have nominated to play in the two-day Ballina Tournament. Ballina entries will close this Thursday as long as the draw is not full beforehand.
Ladies are encouraged to consider entering the annual May Tournament which will take place in Grafton on May 25-27. The Wednesday and Thursday formats will be Stroke and Stableford ($30) with the Friday a 4BBB Stableford ($25 pp). This is always a fabulous event with great prizes, not to mention a perfect way to catch up with our Grafton golfing friends. Entries close on Wednesday, May 11. Please contact Margery if you intend entering.
Play in the 2022 Knockout Competition rounds continue to be impacted by the recent wet weather and flooding. The eight players who are involved have been contacted regarding their Round 2 matches.
Pennants teams will also be named in the coming weeks. The Match Committee would like to extend its thanks to the ladies who have nominated to play.
Once again, please remember to place your name on the Wednesday Competition entry sheets located in the golfers’ lounge and keep checking your emails or the Yamba Ladies Facebook page for updates and adjustments to our golfing calendar.
Happy golfing.
