New members welcomed at Grafton Probus

Our last general meeting was held at the GDSC on September 16 and had 40 members and four visitors in attendance.

President Paula inducted three new members into the club, Norm and Robyn Casson and Janice Wilkinson.

The guest speaker spot was taken up by an evaluation of the club by members in groups. The results proved to be positive and insightful. Our next meeting will be on October 21 at 10am.

A games afternoon was held at South Grafton Bowling Club. Eight intrepid members tried their hand at bowls, with coaching by Ray Nelson. Two good games were played with close results. The next games afternoon will be held at Barnier Park on October 29 from 1.30.

There have been two ‘choc top days’ held recently, with 11 members attending each on. “Eiffel” was a very good French film about the designer of the famous Paris landmark. The second movie was “Ride the Eagle”.

Our October mid-day luncheon was held at the Whitehouse on October 5. Despite there being only 20 members permitted, all who attended enjoyed a delightful 2-course meal. Our next luncheon will be at 1pm on Melbourne Cup Day at the Copmanhurst Hotel, with all the normal race day festivities. Please let Cave know at the meeting on Thursday if you wish to attend. Transport can be arranged for members who need it.

Prospective members can gain further information from Paula on 6642 8797.
