Mining exploration at Cangai

Ed,

Here, I live in an area of outstanding beauty, the mine at Cangai has been stopped due to the amazing effort of the people not wanting such a beautiful area ruined and polluted.

I also write this to inform the people who own properties at Cangai on the Gwydir Hwy from Mulligans Bluff to the bottom of the Gibraltar Range that are on the left-hand side of the Hwy heading to Glen Innes who might not know what is happening.

This week I have been informed that someone has a mining lease for the whole area, my property is included in this.

We own our properties through hard work. Now this week I have been told that there are geologists drilling on a property.  Tell me how this is allowed that someone who doesn’t own the land can come onto your property and drill, strangers on your land, on your private place.

Living out here in an area of natural beauty is a privilege.

The love and pride I have of this area is immense.

To think that it could be taken away is a disaster to the Natural environment.

To have our waterways polluted.

NO MINING
