Message from Yamba Rotary Club

To our delegates, partners, special guests and visitors…

Welcome to Yamba and the 2023 Rotary District 9640 Convention.

It has been said by many, that Australia is one of the best countries in the world in which to live and that the New South Wales coastline between Byron Bay and Forster has the best year-round climate in this state, so congratulations! You’re having this year’s Rotary District Conference in arguably one of the best places in the world! Climatically anyway.

It’s certainly congratulations to District Governor Karen Thomas for selecting our beautiful sea-side town for her conference. While you’re here, we hope you have the time to visit a beach or two both here, Angourie and Iluka, then see the Yamba lighthouse, our district museums and our newly finished Rotary Park on Yamba Road. Also, we don’t apologise for all the clearly labelled Rotary Park seats and tables throughout the villages. A short drive west brings you under the amazing Harwood Bridge before a short drive to the lovely town of Maclean on the Clarence.

Then for those here on Sunday, a riverside BBQ breakfast and the very pleasant ferry ride up the Clarence will finish off a memorable weekend.

The three local Rotary Clubs of Iluka, Maclean and Yamba are here to assist you over the weekend. They’ll have bright pink shirts for easy spotting. We’re here to ensure your conference is enjoyable. Again…. WELCOME.
