Maclean orchid growers display their best

After our preceding display at Yamba Fair in late April, our spectacular Autumn Show took place early this month at the Maclean Showground.

There were many plants for sale, and a variety of beautiful orchids, plants, and flowers to admire, and for assessment, on the Show Benches, and the Tables of Champions.

This year, as we congratulate the Woolgoolga Orchid Society for their contribution too, an unusual amount of Cattleyas were displayed, the Grand Champion being in the Exhibition Cattleya section, Jack Anderson’s Rlc. Chief Journey “First Choice.” Reserve Champion, Helen Seiver’s champion Dendrobium, Blue Planet. Culture Award winner, Helen Seiver, for her Cattleya Rlc. George King “Serendipity.” Specimen Award to Sue Flanders, for her Bulbophyllum rothschildianum.  Other winners include, in the Vandaceous section, Phalaenopsis “Ox Prince”, Neil & Carol Campbell. Oncidium Alliance, Onc. Kulnura Triumph x Onc. Kulnura Delight, Terry & Penny Bird. Miscellaneous winner, Bulbophyllum Elizabeth Ann Buckleberry, John & Kathy Bruce. Species, Epidendrum porpax, Sue Mackay Davidson. Foliage, Sue’s Bromeliad. Joy Small won both the Cut Flower and Floral Art section.
