Maclean & District Orchid Society

Now we are in 2020, the start of a whole new decade and with our desperate yearning for rain; in one heart, mind and spirit shared, we can be hopeful; and sooner rather than later. Wishing one and all a New Year with renewed hope, love, peace and joy.

At our November meeting, 86 beautiful plants were benched, to admire and assess. Both Judges’ Choice Orchid and Popular Vote winner, Robyn Randle’s Miltoniopsis Breathless “Brilliant”; while both Judges’ Choice and Popular Vote Flower winner was Helen Connolly’s Desert Rose; congratulations!

Our thanks also go to Club member Peter Zylstra, who shared on Oncidium alliance culture. This was followed two weeks later by our end of year party.

Our first Meeting in 2020 is on Saturday January 18. There will be a Q&A session, so if you have any questions, do ask.

Plants are benched by 1pm for the judging, then the meeting begins at 1.30pm. Venue: Presbyterian Church Hall, Church Street Maclean. Lucky door and raffle prizes are included, plus afternoon tea.
