Lisa DID progress to the next level

We had a field of 50 who played in last Wednesday’s Single Stableford at Yamba.

Conditions couldn’t have been better with a cool early morning followed by a warm, sunny day.  Yamba perfection! Life is tough during winter in Yamba!

We welcomed back resident globetrotter; Gillian Holst and it was also wonderful to see Rae Blood playing in the Nine Hole competition after approximately two years away.

Results

Onwards and upwards, Rae. Prue McLaughlin was the Nine-Hole competition winner (15pts). Well done, Prue.
Vicki Davies (37pts) was Wednesday’s A Grade winner. Mary Hogan (36pts) was r/up.

In B Grade, Glen Czarnota won (38pts) ahead of Carrie Aitken (37pts).

It was great to see Lorraine Coulton win C Grade (38pts) and Barbara Roberts (34pts) take out r/up.

With many ladies playing in Grafton’s Tournament, Friday’s Single Stableford event had a field of 36 players. Last Wednesday, Lisa Marsh was lamenting that she felt her game needed to progress to the next level and she was at a loss as to how to do it. Friday’s winning result of 44pts suggests she found the key. Fantastic Lisa! Close behind was Jane Madden (40pts) and Suzie Prosser (39pts). Three fabulous scores for three relatively new players. Well done to everyone!

Balls – to 35pts.
NTP winners: Flots and Jets 3rd: Suzie Prosser; Valley Finance 3rd (2nd): Julie Duncan; SeaFire Restaurant 9th (2nd): Noni Rixon; Kitchen to Table 10th: Jenny Moody; Peter Campbell Physio 10th (2nd): Jacky Penfold; Amie Rose Beauty 12th: Jill L Brown; Nicholson Fine Foods 17th: Gail Gore-Brown and Yamba Pharmacy 17th (2nd): Lisa Marsh.

This Wednesday’s round is our Monthly Medal and fundraising day for Domestic Violence Prevention as May is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2023. Introduced to our group for the first time this year, Terri Collingburn is sponsoring the day. Terri is providing the raffle and will be selling white ribbons and marked balls with all funds going to Small Steps 4 Hannah whose mission is to halt domestic and family violence in our community. Thank you, Terri.
